Vaccine advisers to the US Food and Drug Administration voted easily and quickly to recommend that the agency give emergency use authorization to Moderna's coronavirus vaccine -- but not without a lengthy side discussion about whether volunteers in the clinical trial who got placebo shots should be offered the vaccine early.
