* White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders insisted the indictment 'has nothing to do with the president and certainly nothing to do with the White House'
Roger Stone, a former longtime confidant of President Donald Trump, was arrested in Florida on Friday morning following a federal indictment resulting from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's sprawling probe into Russian election meddling.
FBI agents armed with rifles took the self-described political dirty trickster into custody in a dramatic pre-dawn raid with their weapons drawn and a lead agent shouting 'FBI! Open the door! We have a warrant!'
With tactical flashlights shining in his face, Stone confirmed his identity to the agents and was led away.
Stone is charged with seven federal counts including five of making false statements, one of witness tampering and one of obstruction of official proceedings.

WNU Editor: For the past year many were predicting this arrest, including from Roger Stone himself. The indictment can be read from here, and after a quick read he is being hit with a process crime (lying and obstruction). The evidence that is being presented for the obstruction charge and lying to Congress looks strong to me. What I do not understand is why did he lie in the first place. The details that he was asked about were not criminal in nature. One of the persons that he threatened told him he was an idiot for lying (and that person is right). I guess we will find out more when he goes to trial, and (I predict) when he pleads out. As for Russian collusion .... there is nothing in this indictment pertaining to that. There is a reference that a campaign official wanted to know when Wikileaks would release their next batch of Democrat emails, but so what, everyone under the sun wanted to know at that time if Wikileaks was going to release more emails. As to who is that official? According to reports it is Steve Bannon, who has already talked to the Mueller Counsel and the Senate Intelligence Committee on this exchange .... Steve Bannon is the 'high-ranking' Trump official in Roger Stone indictment who asked about future WikiLeaks releases in October 2016 (CNBC).
